Indium(III) fluoride is employed in the synthesis of non-oxide glasses. It promotes chemoselective addition of TMSCN to aldehydes forming the respective cyanohydrins.

Keep container tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers. It is sensitive to moisture. Incompatible with oxidizing agents. Store under dry inert gas.
