| Application【应用】 | Clarithromycin may be used for-

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Macrolides, such as clarithromycin, prevent protein synthesis in bacteria, by binding to 50S ribosomal subunit. It also binds to other ribosomal proteins, and prevents the translocation of pepti-dyl-tRNA. In patients with refractory asthma, it is capable of regulating the levels of interleukin-8 (IL-8), and neutrophil accumulation and activation in lungs. Thus, it might be used as an additional therapy in asthma to reduce noneosinophilic airway inflammation. |
